This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm whether someone is in custody, release anyone, post bond, schedule a visit, or retrieve official booking records. Use the official Monroe County, Georgia, state, or federal contact that matches the record you need.
Where to Start
For local custody, begin with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and Detention Center. For records that are not on the public roster, use the sheriff's open-records contact.

Use the routing below to match the question to the right record system:
- For someone believed to be in the Monroe County Detention Center now, use jail inmate records and then call the detention line if the roster does not answer the question.
- For booking-photo rules, public mugshot limits, and Georgia removal-law context, use jail roster mugshots.
- For charges, court filings, and prosecution after booking, use court records after a jail arrest, then check the clerk or DA as needed.
- For a specific custody location, use the Monroe County Detention Center and Burruss Correctional Training Center pages listed in the footer.
- For a sentenced Georgia state prisoner, use the Georgia Department of Corrections Find an Offender service. Burruss and other GDC facilities are separate from the county jail roster.
- For federal custody, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator when the person may be in BOP custody. Federal pretrial custody may require a federal court, attorney, or U.S. Marshals path.
- For immigration custody, use ICE's Online Detainee Locator System. A Monroe County jail detainer does not always mean the person has already transferred to ICE custody.
- For custody alerts and victim notification, use Georgia VINELink or Monroe County Sheriff's Office Victim Services at (478) 994-7287 when local victim-assistance routing is needed.
